The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 6-1, which includes last year's meeting in Waverly. The Knights have won three of the four total games at Monmouth.

Senior quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) has thrown for 155 yards with two touchdowns in the season opener. His top receiver is junior Denison Harrington (Cedar Falls) who had five catches for 87 yards and one TD.
Junior Connor Bailey (Knoxville) leads the team on the ground with 120 yards and two TDs. Senior Marcus Johnson (Huxley) and freshman Antonio Santillan (Davenport) co-lead the defense with eight tackles. Johnson has a team-high 2.5 TFLs.
Monmouth
The Fighting Scots fell 32-7 to then-No. 18 Wheaton in the season opener last week.
Defensive end, Thomas Lesniewski was named a Third-team Preseason All-American by D3football.com.
In the Midwest Conference's preseason coaches poll, Monmouth, the defending conference champs, was picked to win the South division this season.
DeAndre Wright leads the team after the first game with six yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Hayden Nelson has thrown for 60 yards and one touchdown. His top target is Jacolby Maxwell with six catches for 61 yards and one TD.
Clark Gaden has a team-best 14 tackles and Connor Graeff follows with 11.
