MINNEAPOLIS-- The Wartburg volleyball team (3-2 overall) fell in straight sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-16) to St. Thomas (4-2) Friday night at the Augsburg Invite.
Sophomore
Kylie Bildstein (Dyersville) and freshman
Jayme Willemssen (Waverly) led the team with 10 kills.
Senior
Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) had 23 assists running the team's offense and sophomore
Katie Foster (Charles City) had 15 digs.
The score in the first set remained close, as it was tied 22-22 late in the frame. The Tommies called a timeout and scored three-straight points with two kills and a block. UST started the second set on a 5-0 run to take the lead for good. The third set was also tied 14 all, until the Tommies scored seven-straight points to push the advantage for good once more.
The Knights return to the court tomorrow for the final two matches of this tournament.
