DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Wartburg volleyball team advances to an undefeated 7-0 in the American Rivers Conference after a 3-1 victory over Loras on Saturday.
The Knights (19-7, 7-0 A-R-C) and The Duhawks (17-6, 4-1 A-R-C) went back in fourth throughout the matches before Wartburg took the fifth set victory.
Kylie Bildstein led the Orange and Black with 17 kills, followed by
Zaiah Quirk with 15 and
Jayme Willemssen tallying 14 kills. Other game leaders were
Claire Marsh with 31 assists and
Katie Foster with 31 digs.Â
After a first set victory and falling to the Duhawks in the second and third sets, the Knights responded in the fourth set with a 25-22 win and headed into a fifth set. Trailing 9-12 to Loras, Wartburg had five consecutive points before Loras tallied a point and leaving the match at 14-13. An attack error by the Duhawks led the Knights to a 3-2 victory and advances the team to an undefeated record over conference opponents.Â
Wartburg will head to Arden Hills, Minn. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 to face Bethel University.Â
