HOLLAND, Mich. - The Wartburg volleyball team opened its 2019 season dropping a five-set match Friday, Aug. 30 versus No. 21-ranked Hope College during day one of the Hope Invite.
After dropping the first set, the Knights bounced back to take sets two and three prior to Hope finishing off Wartburg for the 3-2 victory (23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 24-26, 6-15).
Kylie Bildstein led the Wartburg attack with 18 kills, followed by 17 from
Zaiah Quirk and 10 from
Jayme Willemssen.
Katie Foster and
Sydney Rottinghaus shared the team-lead with 21 digs each.
The Knights held a 13-7 advantage in blocks, but Hope led 9-4 in aces.
