DECORAH, Iowa - The Wartburg men's basketball team took a 71-64 victory over American Rivers Conference rival Luther College.
After the Norse started the game with a 10 point lead, a jumper by freshman
Jack Molstead put the Knights on the board at the 17:19 minute mark.
With under three minutes remaining in the half, Molstead connected a three to put the Knights up by one point. In the final second, another jumper by Molstead put Wartburg up 38-35 heading into the locker rooms.
Resuming play, Luther kept the game score within single digits until a jumper by senior
Tyler Zumbach put the Orange and Black ahead by 11 at the 9:05 minute mark.
Trailing by 13 points with five minutes remaining, the Norse hit a layup to bring the score back within nine. With just under two minutes, Luther connected a three to bring the game within three points.

Ryan Stulken hit a jumper with 20 seconds remaining and junior
Max Smith Drahos connected a pair of free throws to secure a 71-64 win.
Four Knights scored in the double digits with Molstead leading with 14 points. Smith Drahos notched 12 points, Zumbach scored 11 points and Stulken recorded 10 points. Five other Knights scored with 25 points coming from the bench.
Wartburg went 8-of-9 at the free throw line, shooting 88.9%, was 29-60 in field goal shooting and 5-14 at the arc. The team tallied a total 31 rebounds, nine steals and two blocks.Â
Wartburg, now 9-12 overall and 5-7 in conference, will continue conference play hosting Buena Vista at Levick Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.Â
