WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg men's basketball will hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Dubuque, Iowa to take on the University of Dubuque in a nonconference contest on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. inside the Stoltz Sports Center.

Attendance Policy
Spectators inside Stoltz Sports Center will be limited to two people for each student-athlete, coach, or staff member. Spectators will need to check-in at the entrance to confirm names on the pass list. Seating for spectators will be designated by UD officials. All games at UD will be closed to the general public.

Last Time Out
Wartburg logged its first victory of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 12 when it defeated Simpson College 69-64 inside Levick Arena. It was a collective effort from the Knights that led them to the win as 11 out of 12 players recorded a basket. Wartburg was led offensively by junior forward
Mitch Gehling who scored nine points and recorded seven rebounds. Redshirt senior
Ryan Stulken recorded a team-high eight boards in the contest.

Trent Allard played key minutes off the bench as each tallied eight points and were a combined 11-of-16 from the field. The rest of the supporting cast for Wartburg also made an impact as they outscored the Simpson bench 32-16. The Knights' size was too much for the Storm as Wartburg outscored Simpson 42-20 in the paint and held a 20-5 advantage in second-chance points.
Defensively, Wartburg held the Storm to just 35.4% from the field and 38.2% from 3-point range. The Knights forced 16 turnovers to go along with four blocks and 10 steals.
University of Dubuque
The Spartans come into the contest with a 2-0 record with wins over Edgewood College (99-69) and North Central University (98-68). Dubuque is shooting a blistering 53.1% from the field, 52.8% from 3-point land and 72.7% from the charity stripe.
The Spartans' backcourt is led by sophomores Patrick Mayfield and Levi Scheuermann who are averaging 21.5 and 11.5 points per game, respectively. The bigs are led by junior forward Peter Ragen who has totaled an average of 18.5 points and seven rebounds in the two contests so far this season.
Defensively, Dubuque has out rebounded opponents by an average of nine boards per game. The Spartans have also forced 16.5 turnovers per game and have turned those mistakes into 21 points over the opening two contests. Dubuque has forced 7.5 steals per match and 3.5 blocks.
