Men's Soccer Heads to Pella for an A-R-C Matchup

WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg men's soccer is slated for an A-R-C matchup with Central College on Saturday, Oct 16 in Pella, Iowa with kickoff set for 1 p.m.

The Knights defeated Buena Vista University 8-0 behind a first-half hat trick for Jack Palen to push the Knights winning streak to four on Tuesday, Oct 12. The Orange & Black scored early and often with five first half goals in the match. The Knights kept the attack going in the second half and added three more goals to secure the shutout victroy. Goal scorers for the Knights were: Palen (3), Edvin Rizvic, Payton Chapman, Michael Dunn, Kolby Fahner and Eli Followwill.
 
The Knights outshot the Beavers 26-5 with an advantage in shots on goal 16-2. Patrick McMahon got the start in goal and recorded one save. Brennon Woody got the second half start and recorded one save as well.
 
Over the four-game win streak, the Orange & Black have outscored opponents 21-0.
 
The Orange & Black are led on offense by Palen, who has scored 13 goals and added two assists for a total of 28 points. Palen also has set the school record this season for most penalty kicks made in a season with five and counting.

The Knights have 11 players with at least one goal this season.
 
In goal for the Knights, McMahon has started the last six games and recorded 20 saves with a save percentage of 80%.
 
Central College
The Dutch enter this contest with an overall record of 2-8-1 and an A-R-C record of 0-3-1. In its last contest Central tied with Nebraska Wesleyan University 1-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 12. Before Tuesday's draw, the Dutch have lost five straight.

The Knights lead the Dutch in the all-time series 16-11-2.
