GRINNELL, Iowa – #18 women's soccer (9-1-1, 2-0 A-R-C) gets its second win in two days after defeating Grinnell College 3-0 in a non-conference match on Sunday, Oct. 3.
The Knights got on the board fast after
Joy Smith scored her eighth goal of the season to put the Knights up 1-0 in just the fourth minute. The goal came off an assist from
Kate Luers, which is her third assist this season.
Gabby Corday scored her second goal of the season set up by a great assist from
Lauren Kirkle in the 14
th minute to give the Knights a 2-0 lead going into halftime. The assist is Kirkle's second of the season.
The Knights would add on one more goal in the second half when
Rachael Christmann converted a penalty kick in the 47
th minute. That's now back-to-back games with a goal for Christmann.
The Wartburg defense played very strong in today's match, only allowing one shot throughout the match and zero shots on goal.
Marissa Lopez got the start and played 63 minutes in goal and had no save opportunities.

The Knights are in action next on Saturday, Oct. 9 in Indianola, Iowa as they take on Simpson College in a American Rivers Conference match at 5 p.m.
