STORM LAKE, Iowa—Hunter Clasen scored twice for the Wartburg Knights as a late fourth quarter touchdown by the Buena Vista Beavers handed the Wartburg Knights a heartbreaking loss. The Beavers defeated the Knights 24-20, snapping a 10-game losing streak to the Knights.
The Knights led the game 20-17 heading into the fourth quarter and forced a Buena Vista punt early in the quarter. The Beavers scored the game-winning touchdown with 27-seconds remaining of action.
The Knights were held to 244 total yards of offense, the second lowest of the season.
Scoring Plays
- Buena Vista struck first as Brandon Kyles scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown early in the first quarter.
- Clasen answered the Beavers opening touchdown, with a one-yard rushing touchdown to start the second quarter.
- Armani Johnson caught an 11-yard pass from Kyles as the Beavers took a 14-7 lead with 4:10 remaining in the first half.
- Clasen found the endzone a second time in the quarter, rushing four yards to tie the game with 57-seconds remaining in the first half.
- The Beavers' Ramon Garcia made a 27-yard field goal attempt midway through the third quarter as the Beavers took a late 17-14 lead.
- Austin Koopmann scored for the Knights, catching a 13-yard pass from Jace Moore with 38-seconds remaining in the third quarter.
- Kyles and Johnson of Buena Vista connected for a final time, as Johnson caught a 9-yard pass with 27-seconds remaining in the game.
