WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg men's basketball will compete in its second consecutive road game when they travel to Decorah, Iowa for a matchup against Luther College on Monday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. inside the Regents Center Gymnasium. The Knight have enjoyed a six-game winning streak against the Norse and have won eight of the past nine contests.Â

Each team (home and away) will be allowed allowed 50 spectators for a pass list to be submitted one day prior to the contest. Spectator entrance to all games will only be allowed through the north lobby of the Regents Center, located in the courtyard next to the Legends Center. Seating for spectators will take place in the east bleachers across from the team benches and scorers table.

The Knights currently hold a 2-6 overall record and are still searching for their first conference win of the season. Wartburg is scoring 73.8 points per game and have a scoring margin of -3.6. The Orange & Black are shooting at a 42.8% clip from the floor, 31.6% from long range and 62.1% from the free-throw line. They are also out rebounding their opponents by two boards per contest and have an assist-to-turnover ratio of .9.Â
Junior guard
Drew Olson paces the team in points with an average of 8.8 a game while freshman
Trent Allard has recorded a team-high 6.5 rebounds per contest, which ranks seventh in the conference. Sophomore guard
Jack Molstead leads the program in assists and ranks tied for third in the A-R-C with 3.5. Senior
Max Smith Drahos is the vocal point on the defensive side with 1.8 steals, which is good for third best in the conference.Â
Opponents are scoring an average of 77.4 points against the Knights while shooting 43.7% from the floor, 33.2% from 3-point land and 68.7% from the charity stripe.Â
Last Time Out
Wartburg men's basketball rallied back from a 15-point second-half deficit but its comeback fell short when the Knights suffered an 80-84 defeat to the hands of Loras College on Thursday, Feb. 18 on Lillis Court. Wartburg was led by junior guard Olson who tallied 16 points on a 60% clip from the field.
The Knights, who competed in their first game since Feb. 3, limped out of the gate as Loras went on a 16-5 run to begin the contest. Wartburg made it a five-point game midway through the first half before the Duhawks pushed their lead back to 12 behind strong shooting from the floor and foul line. Junior guard
Cade Daugherty was the bright spot for the Knights in the first when he finished the period 2-of-3 from the field. Wartburg shot 39.3% from the floor and entered halftime facing a 10-point deficit.Â
Loras continued to frustrate the Knights in the opening minutes of the second half when they pushed their advantage to a game-high 15 points. However, Wartburg ripped off a 20-3 run and gained a nine-point advantage with just five minutes to play. Loras was able to weather the storm and climbed back into the contest as it was knotted up at 79 apiece with 42 seconds left. Wartburg made some costly turnovers down the stretch and the Duhawks converted on their free-throws to clinch the four-point victory.Â

Broden Coulter tallied a season-best 11 off the bench. Freshman Allard notched a team-high seven rebounds to go along with his two blocks and two steals, which were both career-bests for the forward. Sophomore guard Molstead led the Knights in the assist column with a game-high five helpers.Â
Wartburg finished the contest 47.5% from the floor, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 78.9% from the foul line.Â
Luther College
The Norse come into the contest with a winless record and are currently tied for last place in the A-R-C. Luther is being outscored by an average of 13.2 points as they have averaged 58.8 points per game, which ranks last in the conference. They are shooting 35% from the field, 30.8% from long range and 75.4% from the free-throw line. The Norse are being out rebounded by 11 boards per contest and have an assist-to-turnover ratio of .9.Â
Senior forward Aaron Blumberg is leading Luther in scoring with 10 per game while fellow forward Ben Gill paces the team in rebounding with seven.
The Norse defense ranks third in the conference as opponents are scoring an average of 72 points. Luther's opposition are shooting 39.2% from the floor, 33.9% from 3-point land and 72.4% from the charity stripe.Â
