WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's tennis will see its four-game road trip to begin the spring season come to a close on Saturday, March 20 when they travel to Mount Vernon, Iowa for a neutral site match against the Milwaukee School of Engineering at 11:15 a.m. The contest will mark the first ever meeting between the two programs.Â
The Knights (11-3, 7-1 A-R-C) enter the match following a 9-0 defeat against Saint Mary's University last weekend. The Orange & Black have been led by sophomore
Olivia Phillips who has racked up a team-high nine victories in singles play this season. Senior
Sydney Powers is not far behind with seven wins while junior
Madison Overmann has been the No. 1 singles player for Wartburg all year. Phillips and Powers both pace the Knights in doubles with a team-best nine victories while Overmann has recorded eight. As a team, Wartburg is 51-30 in singles and 28-12 in the doubles competition.Â
The Raiders of MSOE come into the contest with a 1-1 record with a win against Wisconsin Lutheran last fall. The match against Wartburg will be just their second game of the spring season. Leah Becker and Yuti Modi lead the Raiders in singles play with a 2-0 record while Cameron Larson is 0-2 at the No. 1 position. MSOE is 6-6 in singles and 2-4 in doubles.Â
