Season Outlook
During the 2019 season, the Knights finished with a 15-3-3 overall record and a 6-1-1 tally in conference play. The Knights finished the regular season in second place but made a run during the postseason and won the A-R-C tournament, clinching their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and third straight. Wartburg defeated Concordia Wisconsin 4-0 in the NCAA first round but then saw its season come to an end when they were upended by No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer 1-0 in the second round.

Sarah Campbell, Gabby Corday, Kate Luers, Hailey Osburn and Joy Smith all return for the Knights this year after earning a spot on the All-Conference team a season ago. Campbell, Luers and Smith also were recognized on the All-Region team while Luers became the fifth All-American in program history. In addition to the All-Conference members, Wartburg has kept its starting line-up intact for the most part with eight starters returning. Senior forward Emily Fontana is another player to look out for while Marissa Lopez will be the main face in net for the Knights this spring.

Last season, the Orange & Black averaged 2.52 goals per game on 15.3 shots, including a shot on goal percentage of 55.9%. Luers paced the Knights with 14 goals and 33 points while Smith was close behind with 11 tallies and 29 points. Campbell lead Wartburg in the assist column last year with 10 helpers. In net, Lopez appeared in 20 matches while posting a goals against average of .71 and a save percentage of 80.6%.

"We are so excited to have the opportunity to compete. We greatly appreciate the commitment Wartburg and A-R-C has had in creating a season for us," head coach Tiffany Pins said. "It has not been an easy year but I am so proud of how this team has handled this unprecedented time. The conference will be extremely strong and we are looking forward to a competitive season."
