DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Wartburg men's soccer team conceded a goal at the 67 minute mark at the University of Dubuque Tuesday evening, falling 1-0 against the Spartans.
The Knights' record moves to 1-1 on the season.
A scoreless first half featured a 6-3 shot lead for Dubuque, with the home team also holding a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Wartburg was assigned a pair of yellow cards early in the second half, but was able to apply more offensive pressure in the final 45 minutes, doubling its shot total.
Dubuque scored the game-winner at 66:53, finishing off a rebound upon a save from Wartburg goalkeeper
Brennon Woody.
Woody made four saves in goal while suffering the loss during his second start of the year.
Anzuruni Kimba led the Knights with three shots, one on goal.
Up next, Wartburg heads to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, April 3 to face Coe College for another American Rivers Conference test.
