WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's lacrosse suffered an 18-4 defeat against Missouri Baptist University on Saturday, March 6 at the Wartburg Lacrosse Field. The contest marked just the second time the two programs have met with the first meeting coming back in 2015.Â
Up next, the Knights (0-2, 0-0 MWL) will hit the road and travel to La Crosse, Wis. to take on UW-La Crosse (1-0) in a nonconference matchup on Saturday, March 13 with the time still to be determined.Â
The Orange & Black fell behind by three goals early in the contest but battled back with a pair of tallies from juniors

Eleanor Fiedler. The Spartans then went on a 6-0 scoring run to end the frame and took a 9-2 lead into halftime.Â
The second half was much of the same as the Knights struggled to find a rhythm offensively. Sophomore

Jordan Lorenzen each recorded a goal in the frame for Wartburg. Missouri Baptist closed the contest on a 5-0 run and came away with an 18-4 victory.Â
Wartburg totaled eight shots with five on goal and goalkeeper
Kelsi Tidwell registered 14 saves. The Knights won 11 draw controls, scooped up 10 ground balls and were 4-of-14 on clear attempts.Â
