CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Wartburg College baseball team opened its American Rivers Conference doubleheader with a loss at No. 15-ranked Coe College during game one prior to game two being suspended due to darkness as the Knights and Kohawks went late into extra innings.

The Kohawks' TJ Johnson tossed a complete game seven-inning shutout, limiting the Knights to just a pair of base hits while Coe's offense scored 13 runs off 15 base hits.
Coe's Riley LeGrand and Jordan Kaplan each tallied three runs batted in while the home team pushed across all of its runs in the first three innings.
Darren Kilpatrick suffered the loss on the mound for the Knights as his record falls to 2-3 on the year.

Game two was suspended due to darkness at Daniels Park.
The two teams will resume the game tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. prior to Saturday's doubleheader and series finale.
