WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's tennis opens up the 2021 season with a home meet at the University of Dubuque for an American Rivers Conference matchup. First serve is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Meirink Family Tennis Facility.

Season Outlook
Last season the Knights posted an 15-8 overall record and a 7-1 ledger in American Rivers Conference play. Wartburg's season ended after a loss in the A-R-C automatic qualifier tournament championship to Luther College to finish second in the conference.
Wartburg lost two all-conference players from last year's team, but will return three all-conference nominees in senior
Ambriel Jacobs, senior
Madison Overmann, and junior
Olivia Phillips. The Knights will also return four other members of last season's team: junior
Alyssa Guse, sophomore
Georgia Nissen, sophomore
Chihiro Ono and sophomore
Bailey Sinnwell.
Along with seven returners there are six newcomers to the team:
Gabby Flynn from Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
Caroline Hutchinson from Dubuque, Iowa,
Natalie Kaiser from Dubuque, Iowa,
Meadow LaDuke from Saint Michael, Minn.,
Gracie O'Donnell from Altoona, Iowa and
Sydney Stout from Davenport, Iowa.

Last season, the Spartans posted a 1-12 overall record and 0-5 in A-R-C play.
Wartburg opened last season with a 9-0 defeat of Dubuque in the only matchup of between the two.
