WAVERLY, Iowa- Looking to improve their best start in program history, the No. 16 Wartburg College Knights hit the road this week as they open American Rivers Conference action.
 
The Knights are set to travel to Buena Vista University on Sept. 15 for a 7:30 p.m. first serve.

Buena Vista enters the match with a 5-2 record opening the 2021 season with matches at the Macalester and St. Catherine tournaments.
 
The two teams have met 66 times since the 1979 season, with the Knights holding a 50-11 record. The Knights were victories in the last meeting, occurring in March 2021, defeating Buena Vista 3-1. The last win for Buena Vista came in 2014, as they posted a 3-1 victory over the Knights.
 
Best Program Start
 
Following wins against No. 22 Augsburg, No. 13 UW-Eau Claire, and St. Olaf, the Knights have posted their best start in program history at 8-0.
 
National Honors
 
With an 8-0 start to the season, the Knights are ranked No. 16 in the AVCA poll, as released on Tuesday, Sept. 14. The Knights, who were previously not ranked, defeated newly ranked No. 12 UW-Eau Claire at the Augsburg Invitational.
 
Weekly Honors
 
For the second week this season, Katie Foster and Kylie Bildstein swept the A-R-C weekly honors as offensive and defensive players of the week. Foster 84 digs and no defensive errors over the four matches. Bildstein recorded 43 kills in the four-game span.
 
Last Time Out
 
In competition last week, Wartburg swept two ranked opponents, No.22 Augsburg and No.13 UW-Eau Claire at the Augsburg Invitational.
