#16 Volleyball Set to Compete at UW-La Crosse Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa- With a 9-0 record and national ranking, the #16 Wartburg College Knights are set to hit the road for the UW-La Crosse Invitational, Sept. 17-18.
 
The Knights are set to compete against Hamline, UW-La Crosse, and Elmhurst over the weekend.
 
Tournament Information
 
Wartburg starts weekend action off taking on Hamline at 3 p.m. on Sept. 17. The Knights face tournament hosts UW-La Crosse at 11 a.m. on Sept. 18, before concluding action with a match against Elmhurst at 1 p.m.
 
Scouting The Field
 
Against Hamline Pipers, the Knights trail by two games as Hamline holds a 4-2 edge in competitions. The last meeting between the Knights and Hamline came in 2017, with the Knights sweeping Hamline in straight sets.
 
The Knights and Eagles of UW-La Crosse have met 25 times in program history, with the series record sitting at 12-12-1 ahead of Saturday's match. The last meeting for the teams came in 2019, as the Knights defeated the Eagles 3-1 in Waverly.
 
The Bluejays of Elmhurst holds an 8-0 series edge over the Knights in action, with the last meeting coming in the 2013.
 
Best Program Start
 
With the best start in program history, the Wartburg College Knights are currently ranked No. 16 in the AVCA poll. The Knights earned the ranking after going 8-0 in the opening two weeks of the season and defeated previously ranked Augsburg and #12 UW-Eau Claire.
 
Weekly Honors
 
For the second week this season, Katie Foster and Kylie Bildstein swept the A-R-C weekly honors as offensive and defensive players of the week. Foster 84 digs and no defensive errors over the four matches. Bildstein recorded 43 kills in the four-game span.
 
Last Tournament Honors
 
The Knights competed at the Augsburg Invitational, Sept. 10-11. Bildstein and Foster were named to the Augsburg Invitational All-Tournament Team.
 
Last Time Out
 
The Knights opened American Rivers Conference action on Sept. 15, posting a 3-1 victory over Buena Vista. The Knights were led by performances from Bildstein, Claire Marsh, Zaiah Quirk, and Kennedy Meister.
