Last Time Out
The Knights were on the road Tuesday, Sept. 21 at St. Olaf for a matchup that featured two ranked region IX teams. St. Olaf came into the contest at the No. 7 position in the region IX poll and defeated the Knights 6-1. After a 5-0 first half for the Oles, the Knights would continue to play tough and played an even second half to finish the game 6-1.
The lone goal for the Knights came from
Kolby Fahner, which was the first of his collegiate career. Wartburg hasn't played a home match since Sept. 12 and the Knights are 2-1 this season at Salzwedel Field entering the conference contest Saturday.
University of Dubuque
The Spartans are 3-3-1 to start the 2021 season and are also opening conference play Saturday. In its last match Dubuque was defeated 2-1 by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and have dropped three of its last four matches.
At goalkeeper for the Spartans, Christoffer Rastock has started all seven games having logged 612 minutes in goal with a save percentage of 70.8%. Offensively, Dubuque is led by Gloire Luwara who has netted three goals so far this season.
The last matchup came in the spring of 2021 when Dubuque defeated Wartburg 1-0 in Dubuque. This has been an even matchup recently, with the last five meetings being even at 2-2-1.
