Men's Basketball Fall to Dubuque 68-60

WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg men's basketball opened up American Rivers Conference play on Tuesday, Nov. 22 with a 68-60 loss to the University of Dubuque. 

Scoring Summary
  • First Half
    • The Knights got out to a 7-0 lead early after a Jack Molstead three pointer and layups from Marshun Williams and Austin Bienemann
    • UD took its first lead of the game five minutes into the game
    • After back-to-back scores from Keagan John, Wartburg still trailed one point with under 12 in the first half
    • Two three pointers gave the Spartans a 25-15 lead
    • The Dubuque lead got to 16 points before the Knights went on a 10-8 run to close the half
    • The Knights shot 40% from the field and 25% from downtown in the first half
  • Second Half
    • After two layups from Codey Hicks, Williams hit a three pointer to cut UD's lead to 43-39

    • After trading baskets the score was still tied with just over five to play
    • The Knights pulled within one point, but Dubuque was able to answer each Wartburg run and hold on for a 68-60 win
