Men's Basketball Fall to Northern Iowa in Exhibition

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Wartburg men's basketball was on the road for an exhibition matchup against the University of Northern Iowa tonight where the Knights fell 105-49 on Monday, Nov. 7.
 
Scoring Summary
First Half
  • UNI jumped out to a 5-0 lead early and Wartburg answered with a three from Jack Molstead and a bucket from Codey Hicks to tie it up at five.
  • The Panthers went on a 14-0 run after the game was tied
  • UNI led 29-10 after 10 minutes
  • The Panthers closed on a 24-10 run to take a 53-20 lead into halftime
  • Wartburg shot 29.6% from the field and 14.3% from beyond the arc in the first half
  • Williams led the Knights with seven points
 
Second Half
  • The Panthers came out of halftime on a 14-6 run after five minutes
  • Williams scored seven straight points for the Knights with just over 10 minutes to play, but UNI led 84-34
  • Knights continued to find offensive success with baskets from Molstead and Drew Olson in transition to bring the score to 86-39
  • Keagan John scored five quick points to get on the board and help the Knights cut into the deficit
  • Final score was 105-49
  • Knights shot 33.3% from the field and 16.7% from three in the second half
