WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's soccer finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 16-2-3 and a 6-1-1 mark in American Rivers Conference play under Emily Ryan in her first season as head coach.
 
After falling in double overtime of the A-R-C Tournament Semifinals, The Knights earned their 10^th overall and fifth-straight NCAA Tournament berth with an at-large bid. Wartburg was selected to host the first and second rounds of the tournament, where they defeated Grinnell College 5-2 before falling to Washington University (Mo.) 3-1 in the second round.
 
The Knights had seven members named to A-R-C All-Conference teams this season. Senior Katie Berglund, fifth-year senior Sarah Campbell, junior Gabby Corday, fifth-year senior Marissa Lopez, fifth-year senior Kate Luers, fifth-year senior Joy Smith were named All-Conference and sophomore Avery Mize was named an Honorable Mention.
 
Campbell and Luers both were named First-team All-Region and Berglund and Smith were named to the All-Region Second-team. Campbell was also named a First-team All-American defender by the United Soccer Coaches, which was the first First-team honoree in program history.
 
Wartburg student athletes also were honored for academics this season with five College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree's and 13 Academic All-Conference recipients. Campbell earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-America Second-team this season after being a Third-team honoree last season.
