Knights fall to Cougars 90-63

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg men's basketball team (0-4) dropped game two of the Buzz Levick Tournament to University of Minnesota-Morris (3-2) 90-63 Saturday, November 18. Marshun Williams led the Knights with 23 points.  

Game Summary 

First Half 

  • Richie Rosenblum got the Knights the lead early hitting the first three of the game to go up 3-0, before the Cougars hit back-to-back three-point field goals to take an early 6-3 lead 

  • Minnesota-Morris took an 18-7 lead before Ethan Yungtum connected on a three to cut the lead to eight halfway through the first half 

  • Drake Wemark connected on his first shot of the game for three to cut the Cougars lead to 13 with a minute left in the half 

  • Minnesota-Morris held the lead for 18:27 in the first half and took a 41-25 lead into halftime 

Second Half 

  • Isaac Besh and Williams start the scoring for the Knights hitting threes in back-to-back possessions to cut the lead to 10 to start the half 

  • Williams had eight of Wartburgs first 12 points in the half to cut the lead to six, three minutes into the half 

  • The Knights went on a 21-9 run to start the second half and got within four points before the Cougars made it a 15-point lead halfway through the second half 

  • Pal Dak of Minnesota-Morris scored 40 points on 17-27 shooting from the field to lead all scorers 

  • A few late threes by the Knights cut the deficit to 27 as the Cougars won 90-63
