WAVERLY, Iowa – Men's basketball fell at home to Central College 81-49 in American Rivers Conference play on Saturday, Dec. 2. The Knights are now 1-7 overall and 1-2 in A-R-C play.

- First Half
- After almost two and a half minutes of scoreless play, Central made a three and Wartburg answered with a layup from Richie Rosenblum
- A Marshun Williams layup with the foul tied the game at 9-9 with 13:52 left in the half
- A Rosenblum floater put Wartburg ahea by one, but Central answered quickly with a three pointer to go back ahead 12-11
- Central's Brad Curren scored eight straight for Central and then a fast break layup extended the lead to 25-15 with just over eight minutes left in the half
- An Ethan Yungtum three ball and a layup from Allard cut the lead to seven, but the Dutch answered with another three to keep the lead at 10+
- Five Central points to close the half gave the Dutch a 40-24 lead at the break

- Central opened the half with a 16-0 run that put them ahead 56-24 before a Carter Cuvelier layup ended the run with 14:49 left to play
- Garrett Hempen attacked the paint for a layup and Cuvelier connected from three, but the Dutch answered and extended the lead back to 36
- Central's lead grew to as many as 42, but Williams and Trent Allard both got to the line to cut into the lead
- Six straight points from Williams and then a basket from Cuvelier brought the score to 76-44 with 3:39 left
