MANKATO, Minn. – Men's basketball's road comeback against Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday, Dec. 30 fell just short as the Vikings defeated the Knights 83-78. Wartburg moves to 2-10 overall and remains 2-2 in American Rivers Conference play.

- The Knights jumped out to a 11-4 lead after layups from Trent Allard, Gabe Trujillo, Ethan Yungtum and Richie Rosenblum and then a three pointer from Luke Ladwig
- Back-to-back scores from Isaac Besh kept Wartburg in front 17-12 with 13:32 left in the half
- BLC went on a 10-0 run to take the lead 22-17
- Trujillo and Ladwig connected from deep to cut the lead to 24-23 with under 10 to play in the first
- A Yungtum driving layup tied the game at 29 all, but the Vikings went on another run to regain the lead

- Six straight points from Yungtum and a three from Ladwig brought the Knights within three points two minutes later
- A Besh three ball put Warburg ahead 59-57 and back-to-back threes from Carter Cuvelier kept Wartburg in front with less than 10 minutes to play
- BLC retook the lead minutes later and never gave it back up
- Wartburg trailed by six with three minutes to play, but the Vikings held on to win 83-78
