WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg men's basketball defeated Buena Vista University 73-64 at home on Saturday, Feb. 11 to end a two-game skid. The Knights are now 8-6 in American Rivers Conference play and 11-12 overall.

- First Half
- After BVU opened the game with a three, Drew Olson answered with a three of his own and then Codey Hicks scored the next eight for Wartburg to make it 11-9 Wartburg
- Both Olson and Jack Molstead connected on triples and then Trent Allard scored four in a row to put the Knights ahead 23-12 with 11:03 left in the first half
- BVU went on a 10-1 run to cut the lead to 24-22 with 6:30 left in the first
- The Knights regained control after Olson found Allard for a dunk and then both Olson and Molstead made three pointers to make it a 10 point game again
- Olson made his fourth three of the half to make the score 35-24 with 2:06 to go, but BVU clawed back to make it 35-32 Wartburg with just over a minute left in the half
- The Knights closed the half with some fireworks as a Keagan John steal led to a deep alley-oop pass that was slammed home by Austin Bienemann at the buzzer to make the score 37-32 Wartburg at halftime
- Second Half
- The Beavers opened the half with back-to-back threes to take the lead, but an Olson layup put Wartburg back in front 39-38 with 17:08 left in the game
- After trading baskets the next three possessions, BVU took a three point lead with 14:22 left
- Both Olson and Allard went 1/2 at the free throw line before Cade Daugherty hit two three pointers to put Wartburg back on top 49-46
- The Knights never surrendered the lead back to BVU and continued to build a lead after back-to-back buckets from John and a layup from Daugherty
- Wartburg's lead was back to 10 after Olson's fifth three pointer of the night with 6:32 to go
- The Knights closed the game out led by Molstead who was 6/6 from the free throw line in the second half
- Wartburg closed out a 73-64 win at home
