Auggies Pull Away for 16-9 Win Over Knights

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Lacrosse fell to Augsburg University 16-9 in a back-and-forth battle on the road Wednesday, Apr. 12. Wartburg is now 2-9 overall and 1-3 in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play.
 
Game Summary
  • First Period
    • Each team scored in the first minute of the game, with Britta Solheim tying the game at 1-1
    • Trailing 2-1, Brittney Shipman tied the game at two with a goal at 8:43 left in the first period
    • Jade Wilson scored her second goal for the Auggies in the final minute to give Augsburg a 3-2 lead after one period
  • Second Period
    • The Knights opened the second period with back-to-back goals
      • The first was scored by Lindsay Langford and assisted by Beka Gershenoff
      • Then Gershenoff scored herself to give Wartburg a 4-3 lead with 10:53 left in the half
