Knights Snap Losing Streak With 4-2 Win Over Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Baseball snapped its six game losing streak today with a 4-2 win over Simpson in extra innings on Saturday, Apr. 15. The Knights are now 9-15 overall and 4-11 in American Rivers Conference play.
 
Game Summary
  • Wartburg got on the board first in this game after a Zach Wesolowski double down the left field line scored Keaton Gray to make the score 1-0
  • After two scoreless innings, Simpson was able to bring across two runs to take a 2-1 lead after three innings
  • The Knights responded in the fourth inning when Eliot Jurgensen brought Zach Walton home with an RBI single that tied the game at two
  • The score remained 2-2 through six innings and Knights starting pitcher Cael Boehmer recorded seven strikeouts through those six innings
  • Malcolm Newell took the mound for the Knights in the eighth and escaped a bases loaded jam with a strikeout to take the game to the ninth inning 2-2
