WAVERLY, Iowa – Baseball clinched a series win after they fell in game one of today's American Rivers Conference doubleheader against Central 3-2 and then took game two 5-3 on Saturday, Apr. 29. The Knights move to 12-18 overall and 7-14 in A-R-C play with three games remainng.
Game Summary

- Only one hit was recorded through the first three innings
- Each team had one hit through four innings, but the score remained 0-0
- Starting pitcher Nick Nin escaped a bases loaded jam in the top of the fourth

- Zach Walton led the bottom of the seventh with a double to left field and was eventually brought home by a two-out single from Eliot Jurgensen

- Central doubled with two runners on to take a 2-1 lead and then added another after the top of the eighth
- Jurgensen brought home another run in the ninth, but the Knights were unable to overcome the lead and fell 3-2
- Game Two
- Similar to game one it was a slow offensive start
- 0-0 through three innings and two hits from each team
- The Knights struck first on the scoreboard when a Walton hit took a bad hop and left him advance to third while scoring two runs
- Walton was scored by an infield single from Zach Wesolowski and the score was 3-0 through three innings
- Jurgensen led off the fourth inning with a triple and was brought home by Carter Stubitz to make the score 4-0
- The Knights added another insurance run in the sixth inning after a leadoff double from Jurgensen that led to an RBI single from Will Armstrong
- Wartburg's pitching and defense kept Central at no runs and just three hits through seven innings
- Cole Wessling hit a two-out triple in the bottom of the eighth but was not able to be hit home
- Trailing 5-0, in the ninth, Central rallied for three runs but it wasn't enough to overcome the Knights lead
