WAVERLY, Iowa – No. 23 Wartburg women's soccer fell in its season opener 3-1 to Hope College on Friday, Sept. 1.

• First Half
  • Hope was on the offensive attack early with two shots on goal in the first 10 minutes
  • Wartburg struck first when Nikayla Youngblut scored on a great strike from outside the box with an assist from Greta Rothe to make it 1-0 in the 20^th minute
