No. 23 Women's Soccer Defeat St. Mary's (MN.) 2-1 on the Road

WINONA, Minn. – No. 23 women's soccer earned its first win of the season with a 2-1 victory on the road over St. Mary's University (Minn.). Camryn Ray and Maddie Bowers both scored in the final five minutes of the first half to lift the Knights over SMU.

  • First Half
    • SMU struck early with a goal in the third minute to put the Cardinals up 1-0
    • The Cardinals applied offensive pressure early with the first six shots of the match, three on goal
      • SMU attempted no shots in the first half after the 24th minute
    • With less than 10 minutes left in the first half the Knights begin to get open looks and put together five shots on goal to end the half
    • Camryn Ray scored the equalizer with an assist from Meredith Connor in the 43rd minute
    • The Knights scored again in the final minute after a corner kick from Abigail Milburn was scored by Maddie Bowers
      • Two goals in the last five minutes of the half to give Wartburg a 2-1 lead
