WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg men's basketball was unable to upset No. 20 Loras after a strong second half led the Duhawks to a 81-66 win over the Knights on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Wartburg moves to 3-18 overall and 2-10 in American Rivers Conference play.

- First Half
- Trent Allard scored the first basket of the game with an assist from Gabe Trujillo and then Marshun Williams converted on a three-point play to make the score 5-3 early
- A jumper from Luke Ladwig and then five-straight points from Williams gave Wartburg a 12-9 lead with 13:55 remaining in the half
- After the lead went back-and-forth, an Isaac Besh three ball gave the Knights a 19-16 lead with under nine minutes left
- Besh scored two more three pointers in the next five minutes to keep Wartburg in front 31-27

- Loras went on a 12-0 run to storm back for a 50-45 lead before Cuvelier nailed back-to-back three balls to put Wartburg back on top 51-50
- The Duhawks answered the back-to-back threes of their own to retake the lead 56-51
- A Besh three pointer made the score 56-54, but Loras continued to hold its lead with under eight minutes to play
- Loras went on another run to push the lead to 11 before Cuvelier made two from the stripe to cut the lead to 65-56
- The lead got to as low as eight, but Loras closed on a 16-10 run to secure an 81-66 win
