Men's Basketball Win 95-62 Over Emmaus

WAVERLY, Iowa – Men's basketball defeated Emmaus Bible College 95-62 Monday, Jan. 8. After the win, the Knights are now 3-12 on the season.
 
Game Summary
  • First Half
    • The Knights started the game on an 11-0 run started by a Trent Allard layup and dunk, followed by a three-pointer and layup by Luke Ladwig while Isaac Besh added a deep two three minutes into the game
    • Over the next seven minutes the scoring heated up on both sides as Wartburg went on a 19-18 run as Ethan Yungtum scored seven, Marshun Williams with four, Richie Rosenblum with three, Garrett Hempen and Allard with two to make it 30-18 halfway through the half
    • Wartburg kept the hot hand as Gabe Trujillo made a three pointer and two free throws in between two Yungtum layups to make it 39-21 with seven minutes left
    • Rosenblum connected from deep, and Carter Cuvelier adds two made layups over the next 3:30 to extend the lead 46-29 with three minutes left in the half
    • The half was finished off by a Drake Wemark layup and two free throws from Rosenblum to take a 50-37 lead into the half
  • Second Half
    • Trujillo starts the half with an early three-point play followed by layups from Williams and Allard to push the lead to 57-41
    • Besh adds a deep ball to layups from Williams, Yungtum and two from Rosenblum to push the lead to 20 as Wartburg goes up 68-48 with 13:30 left in the game
    • The Knights went on 15-3 run over the next four minutes with six points from Cuvelier, four from Rosenblum, two from Yungtum and a three-point play from Trujilo to put the Knights up 81-51 with 9:46 remaining
    • Brody Bauer and Jalen Miller add layups while Abraham Cook made a dunk to push the lead to 33 with four minutes left in the game
    • Wartburg finished off the game with made shots from Drew Britson, Dominic Braet, and Clay Nielsen to win the game 95-62
