Natalie Thiesfeld Scores in Loss to No. 16 Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Wartburg women's soccer fell to No. 16 Loras 6-1 on the road Tuesday, Oct. 15 to move Wartburg to 4-1 in American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play and 8-5-2 overall. Natalie Thiesfeld's late goal marked the first goal surrendered by Loras all season and the Duhawks move to 13-0 overall and 4-0 in A-R-C play.

  • First Half
    • Loras jumped on Wartburg early with a goal in the first minute and then another in the fourth minute to make it 2-0
    • The Duhawks continued to attack offensively and added two more goals in the 19th and 20th minutes that made the score 4-0
    • Loras struck again in the 32nd minute to push the lead to 5-0
    • Lauren Kirkle recorded the first shot on goal for the Knights after firing a free kick on goal that was saved in the 38th minute
      • Loras took a 5-0 lead to halftime
  • Second Half
    • Claudia Sewell had a shot for the Knights in the 53rd minute that just missed being on target
    • The Duhawks added another goal in the 59th minute to make the score 6-0
    • Natalie Thiesfeld fired a shot on goal that was saved in the 77th minute
      • In the 85th minute, Thiesfeld was able to beat the defense a put a shot into the back of the net to put Wartburg on the board and make the final score 6-1
