Coaches Comments
"The energy was great coming off an exciting game one" said Head Coach Klunder on what he saw from his team in the final game of the day. "Our guys showed great leadership to play as strong as they did just 30 minutes after an extra inning game."
Klunder described one of the turning points of the game, "After we went down 5-1,
Cael Boehmer brought the team together and told the guys to 'lock in' and then we went on to have two huge innings." Wartburg answered the 5-1 deficit with a six-run fourth inning, three-run fifth inning and a 14-run sixth inning.
"Jurgensen swung the bat really well in game two, accomplishing a rare feat of two triples in one game" said Klunder on
Eliot Jurgensen's five-RBI game. Another player Klunder mentioned was
Cael Funk, "It was a good debut for Funk on the mound today, he was outstanding in relief."
