Knights Comeback Falls Short to Alma 9-7

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Baseball fell to Alma 9-7 on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in a rematch of yesterday's extra-inning game. This marks the first loss of the season for the Knights, moving them to 3-1 overall.
 
Game Summary
  • First Inning
    • The Scots got on the board first with a couple of runs to make the score 2-0
  • Third Inning
    • Wartburg scored its first run after a Zach Walton double brought home Eliot Jurgensen
    • Sam Nicolino doubled to bring Walton home for the Knights' second run to make the score 4-2
    • Garrett Kadolph kept the doubles coming as he brought Nicolino home to cut the lead to 4-3
  • Fifth Inning
    • Walton led off the bottom half of the fifth with a triple and then scored after a wild pitch
    • Garrett Kadolph drove in Stubitz for an RBI and to cut the Alma lead to 7-5
  • Seventh Inning
    • With the bases loaded, Nicolino worked a walk at the plate to bring home Eliot Jurgensen
    • Noah Day hit into a fielders choice that brought home Walton to tie the game at seven
  • Eighth Inning
    • The Scots put two more runs up in the top of the inning to retake the lead 9-7
