Softball drops both in regular season finale

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team (23-15 overall, 9-6 American Rivers) dropped both games of the doubleheader to Coe (29-9, 12-4) in the regular season finale Saturday. The Kohawks won 4-1 and 9-4.

  • Coe takes 2-0 lead on two-run homerun
 
Fifth
Kaylie Springer had an RBI groundout to score Carley Bredar to slice the lead in half at 2-1
 
Sixth
  • Coe plated two more on an RBI fielder's choice and single

  • Tarah Wehde drove in Bredar for the 1-0 lead
  • Alexis Larson had an RBI groundout to bring in Fellows to make it 2-0
  • Coe tied it on a two-run homer and used an RBI single for the go-ahead run
Second
  • Springer drove in Reagan Hassel on her RBI single to tie it at three all
Third
  • The Kohawks pushed two more across in the frame on RBI singles
Fourth
  • A two-run single and a two-run double brought it to 9-3 in favor of Coe
Sixth
  • Hassel singled up the middle to drive in Lanie Bouillon to make 9-4
