Women's Soccer Win A-R-C Opener Over Dubuque 1-0

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Women's soccer opened American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on Saturday, Sept. 28 with a 1-0 win on the road over the University of Dubuque. The Knights are now 5-4-1 overall and move to 1-0 in A-R-C play while UD is now 4-2-3 overall and 0-1 in A-R-C play.

    • An early Wartburg corner kick gave Maddy Badding a shot opportunity that missed just left of the goal
    • Nikayla Youngblut put the Knights on the board in the 14th minute with a strike to make it 1-0 Wartburg
    • Natalie Thiesfeld fired a shot on goal that was saved by UD in the 23rd minute
    • Mackenzie Ceschan made back-to-back saves in the 26th and 27th minutes
    • Lauren Kirkle had a shot on goal saved and the score remained 1-0 at halftime
