WAVERLY, Iowa – Men's basketball defended its home court with a 78-63 over Buena Vista University on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Knights are now 3-4 in A-R-C play and move to 10-6 overall.

- First Half
- Richie Rosenblum and Luke Ladwig came out firing as they both made a three pointer in the first minute and a half of play
- Wartburg kept the scoring up as Marshun Williams added a three pointer along with two points from both Gabe Trujillo and Austin Bienemann to make the score 13-5 after four minutes
- Over the next six minutes of play, BVU put together a 18-8 run to take a 23-21 lead
- The Knights responded with a 10-5 run led by six points from Williams to retake the lead 31-26
- Bienemann and Isaac Besh both connected from three in the final minutes of the half to put Wartburg ahead 37-33 at halftime

- Much like the first half, Wartburg's first two made shots of the second half were three pointers from Trujillo and Ladwig
- While leading 43-38, Williams scored five points in 30 seconds of game play to push Wartburg's lead to 48-38 with 17:04 left in the half
- After three minutes of scoreless play from Wartburg, Williams added four more points followed by a Ladwig driving layup to push the Wartburg lead to 14 points
- Williams, Bienemann and Rosenblum all made a three over the next three minutes to keep Wartburg in front 63-47
- The Knights lead grew to as many as 22 as they closed out a 78-63 win at home
