Two Second-Half Goals Lead to 2-0 Loss at Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Women's soccer fell to Simpson College 1-0 in an American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) battle on the road.
 
The Knights are now 7-9-1 overall and 3-3-1 in A-R-C play, while Simpson is now 10-5-2 overall and 6-2 in A-R-C play.
 
Match Summary
  • First Half
    • Both Nikayla Youngblut and Kenna Hemann recorded shots on goal within the first 10 minutes of the match
      • Both shots were saved by Simpson
    • Tulla Jensen made two saves for the Knights with a save in the 16th minute and a save in the 21st minute
    • Each team traded shots as Allison Smith had a shot on goal saved in the 22nd minute and on the other end Jensen made a save in the 27th minute
    • The Knights made four more saves over the next 10 minutes with Jensen recording two saves and two saves being credited as team saves
    • Webster fired a shot on goal that was saved in the 39th minute and then Jensen made two saves to close out a 0-0 first half
  • Second Half
    • Simpson broke up the tie in the 60th minute when Jansen scored with an assist from Bell to make it 1-0 Simpson
    • Webster had another shot saved in the 68th minute and then seven minutes later Claire Lienhard fired a shot on goal that was saved as well
      • Webster had a shot deflect off of the left post and out of play in the 75th minute
    • The Storm added another goal in the 78th minute to make the score 2-0
