WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg College volleyball team (15-10) dropped a three-set affair against Coe College (18-8) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Liv Anderson led the team with nine kills, followed closely by
Whitney Klyn with seven and
Anna Sash with six. Anderson and Klyn recorded three service aces apiece, and
Sophie Sedgwick racked up 17 assists.
Peyton Robinson recorded eight digs, followed by Klyn with six.
The first set was tightly contested, with Wartburg grabbing a 16-12 lead. Coe battled back to tie the set at 17, and after some back and forth Coe took the set 25-23.
The second set differed dramatically, as Wartburg trailed by three, 11-8, before Coe rattled off a 14-1 run to end the set 25-9.
The Knights jumped out to a 13-8 lead in the third set, before the Kohawks tied up the set at 18. After trading points, Coe took the final four points to win the match 25-22.
The Kohawks held the Knights to a .173 hitting percentage, while hitting at a .430 clip.

Wartburg travels to Mount Vernon, Iowa, to take on Cornell College (16-10) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Rams are coming off a 3-0 victory over Grinnell.
