WATERLOO, Iowa – Women's bowling closed Mid Iowa Bowling Conference (MIBC) play this past weekend at the MIBC #3 event held in Waterloo, Iowa on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 1-2. The Knights finished second in MIBC #3 and took home third place in the MIBC Championships.
Lauren Funk earned First-team All-Conference honors as she was Wartburg's top finisher over the weekend.

Alexis Neuer Runk. "This was a critically important finish with sectionals qualifications right around the corner. MIBC #3 the entire team performed well, and it was truly a cohesive effort. They started out the day in 2
nd place and held that spot throughout the entire day and brought home their first set of hardware this season!"
"This finish put us in third going into championship Sunday with a chance at the conference title," continued Runk. "We needed to win all three matches to be crowned conference champions. We came out strong the first match and swept Iowa Central 3-0. Unfortunately, we hit a tough pair match two and had suspect spare shooting and fell to Waldorf 0-3. We finished the day on a positive note sweeping Iowa Central again 3-0 to finish third at the conference championships. Excited to get back on the lanes again in Waterloo for our final regular season tournament the Cedar Valley Invite."
