WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg softball team won the opener 5-4 against the College of Saint Benedict, but fell 6-4 in extra innings for the finale.
Game One
- The Knights took the early 4-0 lead in the first
- Riley Metz drove in Reagan Hassel on her single to center field
- Metz scored on Addy Wells' RBI single to center field
- Alexis Larson then singled through the right side to score Jenna Wiebenga
- Carley Bredar singled to shortstop to plate Wells
- The Bennies got on the board in the third on an RBI single to left field
- Saint Benedict tied the game on a three-run double in the fourth
- Hassel drove in Bredar on her RBI fielder's choice in the bottom of the fourth for the go-ahead run
- CSB was retired in order in its last three trips to the plate

- A similar story played out in the second game as the Orange and Black took the 4-0 lead, this time in the second inning
- Riley Feeley drove in Wells on her single to right centerfield
- Fellows hit a two-run single down the rightfield line
- The Knights attempted a double steal and though Fellows was tagged out in the rundown, Amanda Strzyzewski scored while that played out
- The Bennies hit a three-run homer in the fifth and knotted the game on a wild pitch in the sixth
- CSB hit a two-run homer over the left field pole for the eventual winning runs
