Knights sweep Vikings

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.— The Wartburg softball team (21-13 overall) swept Augustana (22-8) 11-5 and 11-3 Thursday night. Bella Mulder tied the single game record with three doubles in game one.

Second inning Third inning
  • The Orange and Black doubled their margin with a two-run double to centerfield from Bella Mulder
Fourth inning
  • Wartburg plated three in the frame on a fielder's choice, bases loaded walk and groundout
  • The Vikings answered in their at-bats with three runs, which included a two-run single which made it 7-3
Seventh inning
  • Mulder hit her third double of the game to plate Carley Bredar
  • Addy Wells drove in Riley Feeley on her single to left
  • Mulder scored on a fielder's choice and Ally Happ scored on Sydney Fellows' double to left to push it to 11-3
  • Augustana scored on an RBI single and fielder's choice
  • With a runner on third and two outs, the Vikings drew a walk and then the next batter grounded out to the pitcher to end the rally

  • Jenna Wiebenga drove in Reagan Hassel on her single to right to take the early 1-0 lead
  • The Vikings tallied two in the bottom on a leadoff home run and later an RBI fielder's choice
Second inning
  • Augustana added one on an RBI single down the rightfield line
Fourth inning
  • Wartburg reclaimed the lead as it pushed three across, which included a two-run double from Addy Wells to right center

  • Fellows moved her reached base safely streak to 26 games
  • Fellows moved her hitting streak to eight games

  • Wartburg owns the series lead against Augustana at 10-5, which includes the last six-straight games.
