WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg softball team (22-14 overall, 9-4 American Rivers) split with Nebraska Wesleyan (26-9, 8-4) Saturday. The Knights won the opener 4-3, but fell 9-1 in five innings in the finale.

- NWU tallied one on an RBI double to slice the margin in half
Fifth inning
- The Prairie Wolves took the 3-2 lead on two RBI singles
- The Orange and Black regained the lead as Fellows scored on Feeley's groundout and Mulder drove in Reagan Hassel on her single to right
Seventh inning
- NWU looked for a late rally as the leadoff batter singled. She advanced to third on the next batter's double, but was thrown out at the plate for the first out of the inning
- After the next hitter flew out to right, the next batter singled and the lead runner tried to score but was one again thrown out at home to end the threat

- The game was scoreless until the Prairie Wolves plated five

- NWU added three on a bases clearing double
- Kiefer hit a leadoff double, moved to third on Well's groundout and scored on Alexis Larson's single to center
- Later, Wartburg had runners on the corners with two outs, but the next batter grounded out to end the game
