Jensen Records Career-high 13 Saves in Loss to Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. – Women's soccer continued its tough nonconference scheule on Saturday, Aug. 30 with a 3-0 loss to Hope College on the road. Sophomore goalkeeper Tulla Jensen recorded a career-best 13 saves in today's match.
 
Match Summary
  • First Half
    • Hope was able to control the match early on with multiple off-target shots and a corner kick opportunity
    • Paige Lienhard recorded the first shot on goal of the match but her shot was saved and then minutes later, Jensen made a save on the other side for the Knights
    • The tie was broken in the 19th minute when Halle Barnard scored after her shot connected with the right post and went in
    • Sami Webster put pressure on the defense with a shot on goal in the 31st minute, but was unable to beat the keeper
    • After four more Jensen saves, Hope added another goal with a deep shot from Adelyn Raad in the 31st minute to make the score 2-0
    • The Knights defense fended off two more shot on goal attempts before another goal was added to make the deficit 3-0 heading into the break
  • Second Half
    • The Flying Dutch controlled possession out of the halftime break and continued to pressure Wartburg's defense with shots and corner kick attempts
    • Jensen made four more saves in the second half to keep the score 3-0 after 90 minutes
