NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Wartburg college volleyball team (7-5 overall) dropped its two Saturday contests against No. 24 Gustavus Adolphus (3-1) and St. Olaf (3-0) at the Skoglund Athletic Center. Â

GAME ONE - #24 Gustavus Adolphus 3, Wartburg 1Â
No. 24-ranked Gustavus Adolphus (12-1 overall) claimed set scores of 26-24, 25-22, and 25-19, while the Knights took the second set 25-19. The morning match featured 24 ties and nine lead changes. Â
The Gusties fended off the Knights, claiming game one of the day, 3-1. Wartburg faced a .087 attack percentage, yet holding Gustavus Adolphus to just .118 - it's second lowest of the season. Â
Whitney Klyn paced the Orange and Black with a match-high 12 kills, while
Anna Sash ended with nine. Klyn added 12 digs to her kill total, tallying her fifth double-double of the season.
Peyton Robinson dug out her third-most digs of the season with 24, as
Sophie Sedgwick provided 17 assists. Â
The Gusties led 3-1 in the opening set before the Knights went on a swift 4-0 run to claim a 5-3 lead.
Wartburg led by as much as seven at 18-11. The Knights were set for match point at 24-20, but a 6-0 spurt from the Gusties would give them the opening set, 26-24. Wartburg was out killed 14-to-9, hitting just .065 - it's lowest of the match. Â
Kaylee Anderson caught fire in the second set with a set-high of five kills at a .667 clip. Robinson (6) and Sedgwick (4) combined for 10 digs, as Wartburg held the nationally ranked Gusties to a -.030 to knot up the match at one, 25-19. Â
A competitive beginning to the third set took place when the two teams traded points up until the Knights took a two-point lead at 8-6. A hefty 8-2 run by the Gusties proved to be too much to overcome, as they would take a 2-1 match lead with a 25-19 response. Â
Gustavus Adolphus attacked at a .209 percentage to pace it to a 3-1 victory and avoid a fifth set. Klyn and Sash provided six kills total to claim six of the Knights' ten kills in the final set. Â

GAME TWO – St. Olaf 3, Wartburg 0Â
St. Olaf won by set scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-22 to secure the sweep over Wartburg. Â
Liv Anderson and
Whitney Klyn led the Knights with six kills, as
Kaylee Koudelka added five.
Anna Sash sent back four of the Oles' attacks. Â
The Knights were held to a -.019-attack percentage, their lowest of the season, as the Oles hit just .165. Â
