WAVERLY, Iowa- The Wartburg No. 4 ranked men's and No. 20 ranked women's track and field teams broke three meet records at the Friday Knight Lights meet in Waverly.
Tyler Schermerhorn stamped his name on top of the record books by breaking the program record in the 3000m.

FIELD EVENTS
(M) High Jump:
Tonie Torboh Jr. put together a top five performance with a 1.87m 6-01.50 mark.
(W) High Jump: The Knights had three of the top five finishers.
Ema Roberts was victorious with a 1.66m 5-05.25Â mark
. Roberts has is tied for fifth on the program's top 10 list and 13th on the TFRRS list for this season.
Samantha Nielsen (1.61m 5-03.25) placed fourth and
Jazmine Woode (1.56m 5-01.25) placed fifth.
(M) Long Jump:
Elliott Bond was the top performer for the Knights with a second place 6.85m 22-05.75 mark.
(W) Long Jump:
Olivia Tollari outlasted 14 competitors to win with a 5.33m 17-06.00 mark.
Adalyn Sporleder earned a top three finish with a 5.17m 16-11.50 mark.
(M) Triple Jump:
Anthony Weaver Jr put together an exceptional performance with a first-place mark of 14.01m 45-11.75, which is a meet record.
Jayden Maten followed with a second place mark of 13.00m 42-08.00.
(W) Triple Jump:
Amelia Wright was the lone competitor in the event and had a 9.73m 31-11.25 mark.
(M) Pole Vault:
Daniel Zietlow (4.05m 13-03.50) represented the Knights with a sixth place finish, which ranks 10
th on the program's top 10 list.
(M) Shot Put:
Deacon Vasey earned a fourth-place finish with a 14.54m 47-08.50 mark.
(W) Shot Put:
Abby Veld earned a top five finish with a 13.10m 42-11.75 mark.
(M) Weight Throw:
Eli Keahna finished top five with a 16.17m 63-00.75 mark out of 23 other competitors. Â
(W) Weight Throw:
Abby Veld led the Knights with a 16.06m 52-08.25 mark to finish sixth place.

(M) 3000m Collegiate:
Tyler Schermerhorn set program history with a time of 8:12.34. This breaks a meet record, ranks first on the program's top 10 list, and stands 10
th on the TFRRS list for this season.
Isaiah Hammerand (8:14.45) placed second and
Eli Larson (8:21.77) placed third. Larson remains ninth on the program's top 10 list, but improves his time.
(W) 3000m Collegiate: The Knights had four of the top five top finishes.
Maddie Merna (10:02.35) finished first place,
Morgan Engel (10:32.00) finished third place,
Lydia Maas (10:33.80) finished fourth place, and
Karle Kramer (10:37.09) finished fifth place.
(M) Mile: The Knights had two top five finishes.
Aidan Decker (4:23.56) paced the Knights with a third place finish.
Luke Hagenberg (4:36.00) followed with a fifth place finish.
(W) Mile:
Emrie Johnson (5:43.05) was the top Knight performer with a sixth place finish.
(M) 800m: The Knights had the top seven finishers in the event.
Hutton Edney was the top performer with a time of 1:53.26, which stands eighth on the TFRRS list for this season.
Logan Rosas took second place with a time of 1:54.10, which stands 18
th on the TFRRS list for this season.
(W) 800m: The Knights had three of the top four finishers.
Haley Meyer highlighted the performances with the event victory. Meyer set the meet record with a time of of 2:13.99, which stands second on the TFRRS list for this season.
Nadia Bowden (2:17.35) took third and
Hannah Ramsey (2:18.44) took fourth.
(M) 600m:
Benjamin Roussell earned a runner-up finish with a time of 1:25.01.
(W) 600m:
Kiana Carnes had a top three finish with a time of 1:49.10.
(M) 400m: The Knights were led by
Jeffrey Oestreicher who took fourth place with a time of 50.65.
(W) 400m: The Knights took three of the five top five spots in the field.
Leah Cherry (1:00.29) placed first,
Lillian Olson (1:02.79) placed third, and Lilly Bets (1:04.44) placed fifth.
(M) 200m:
Jimmy Weispfenning (22.27) led the Knights with a third place finish, which ties ninth on the program's top 10 list.
(W) 200m: The Knights had seven of the top eight finishers.
JoJo Tyynismaa (25.79) led the entire field and
Olivia Tollari (26.44) took third place.
(M) 60m Hurdles: The Knights had five finalists.
Austin Rindels was victorious with a time of 8.25, which moves him up to fourth on the program's top 10 list.
Weston Johnson finished fourth with a time of 8.49 and moved up to ninth on the program's top 10 list.
Seneca Molstre earned a top five finish with a time of 8.54.
(W) 60m Hurdles: The Knights had the top four finishers and six finalists.
JoJo Tyynismaa was the winner with a time of 8.86 and her time stands 11
th on the TFRRS list for this season.
Ryann Decker (9.28) finished second place,
Caitlin Benesh (9.54) finished third place, and
Aly Stahle (9.59) finished fourth place.
(M) 60m:
Jimmy Weispfenning finished third with a time of 6.91, which ties fifth on the program's top 10 list.
(W) 60m: The Knights had four finalists.
JoJo Tyynismaa placed third and her prelim time (7.80) ties eighth on the program's top 10 list.
