WAVERLY, Iowa- The Knights No. 4 ranked men's and No. 10 ranked women's track and field teams finished their busy day of competition at the David Hemery Valetine Invite in Boston, Midwest Elite in Whitewater, Darren Young Classic in Grinnell, and Blue Demon Alumni Classic in Chicago.
Lance Sobaski broke the program record in the mile and
Isaiah Hammerand broke the program record in the 5000m.

David Hemery Valentine Invite
(M) 5000m:
Isaiah Hammerand put together an exceptional performance by setting a new program record with a time of 14:07.41. Hammerand breaks Joe Freilburger's time of 14:12.27, which was set in 2022.
(M) Mile: The Knights were represented by two competitors.
Lance Sobaski cruised to a new program record in the men's mile with a time of 4:05.15. Sobaski breaks Christopher Collet's record time of 4:05.84, which was set in 2024.
Nathan Kinzer ran a 4:09.93, which ranks third on the program's top 10 list.

Midwest Elite
(M) 5000m:
Tyler Schermerhorn finished in the top three with a time of 14:25.08, which stands 14
th on the TFRRS list for this season.
Eli Larson placed seventh with a time of 14:28.72, which stands 20
th on the TFRRS list for this season.
(W) 5000m:
Lydia Maas put together a top 10 finish and was the top finisher for the Knights with a time of 17:45.97 out of 92 total competitors in the event.

Darren Young Classic
(M) 5000m: The Knights had four of the top five finishers.
Ben Neville (15:01.99) placed second,
Derek Coulter (15:06.11) placed third,
Cooper Cook (15:09.07) placed fourth, and
Evan Cook (15:09.12) placed fifth.
(W) 5000m:
Meghan Zopel and
Peyton Morey were the top finishers for the Knights. Zopel placed third with a time of 18:23.79 and Morey placed fourth with a time of 18:25.64.

Blue Demon Alumni Classic
(W) Long Jump:
Olivia Tollari was the only competitor for the Knights. Tollari finished in 13
th place with a 5.48m 17-11.75 mark.
(M) 800m:
Benjamin Roussell represented the Knights and finished 26
th with a time of 2:01.00.
(W) 800m:
Isabella Skay was the sole competitor for the Knights and ran a 2:23.85 to finish in 23
rd place.
(M) 400m:
Alex Kerr was the top Knights finisher with a time of 50.29 to place in the top 20.
(W) 400m:
JoJo Tyynismaa delivered an impressive performance with a time of 57.05 to finish 12
th. Tyynismaa ranks seventh on the program's top 10 list.
(M) 200m:
Jordan Cleaves was the only Knight competing in the event and finished in the top 20 with a time of 22:43.
(W) 60m Hurdles:
Grace Braden led the Knights with a time of 9.00 to finish 12
th place.
(M) 60m:
Jimmy Weispfenning ran a 6.95, which was the fastest time out of the competitors for the Knights to take 12
th place.
(W) 60m:
Olivia Tollari was the lone competitor for the Knights and finished in 26
th place with a time of 8.08.
(M) 4x400m: The Knights top relay team was represented by
Jeffrey Oestreicher,
Benjamin Roussell,
Jimmy Weispfenning, and
Alex Kerr. They earned a fourth place finish with a time of 3:18.84.
(W) 4x400m: The relay team of
JoJo Tyynismaa,
Olivia Tollari,
Natalie Bork, and
Ryann Decker finished in the top five with a time of 3:51.87. They stand 10
th on the TFRRS list for this season.
