Wartburg Celebrates Senior Day at the Liz Wuertz Indoor Invite; Highlighted by 19 Event Wins and Six Meet Records

WAVERLY, Iowa- The Knights No. 10 ranked men's and No. 23 ranked women's track and field teams competed at the Liz Wuertz Indoor Invite in Waverly. The Knights were victorious in 19 total events and set six meet records.
 
Tonie Torboh Jr (triple jump), Eli Keahna (shot put), Ethan Boston (5000m), Ben Neville (3000m), Solomon Zaugg (mile), Nathan Ahern (800m), Jimmy Weispfenning (200m), AJ Wright (60m), the distance medley relay team (Nathan Kinzer, Alex Kerr, Hutton Edney, Lance Sobaski, and the 4x400m relay team (Jeffrey Oestreicher, Jordan Cleaves, Hutton Edney, Alex Kerr) earned event wins on the men's side.
 
Abby Veld (shot put, weight throw), JoJo Tyynismaa (200m, 60m hurdles), Ema Roberts (high jump), Morgan Engel (3000m), Ellasa Horton (60m), the distance medley relay team (Haley Meyer, Olivia Tollari, Nadia Bowden, Maddie Merna), and the 4x400m relay team (Olivia Tollari, Ryann Decker, JoJo Tyynismaa, Natalie Bork) earned event wins on the women's side.

FIELD EVENTS
(M) High Jump: Jayden Maten was the lone competitor for the Knights and placed fourth with a 1.81m 5-11.25 mark.

(W) High Jump: The Knights had four of the top five finishers. Ema Roberts (1.65m 5-05.00) placed first, Samantha Nielsen (1.60m 5-03.00) placed second, Grace Braden (1.55m 5-01.00) placed fourth, and Jazmine Woode (1.50m 4-11.00) placed fifth.

(M) Long Jump: The Knights were led in the event by Tonie Torboh Jr and Jayden Maten. Torboh Jr placed third with a 6.71m 22-00.25 mark and Maten placed fifth with a 6.49m 21-03.50 mark.

(W) Long Jump: Olivia Tollari (5.56m 18-03.00) and Adalyn Sporleder (5.22m 17-01.50) led the Knights with their second and fourth place finishes, respectively.

(M) Triple Jump: Tonie Torboh Jr was victorious with a 14.30m 46-11.00 mark. Torboh Jr was the only competitor in the event representing the Knights and outlasted four other competitors.

(W) Triple Jump: The Knights had three top five finishers. Maddy Boulanger (10.39 34-01.25) placed third, Samantha Nielsen placed fourth, and Amelia Wright (10.03m 32-11.00) placed fifth.
 
(M) Pole Vault: Daniel Zietlow (4.25m 13-11.25) led the Knights in the event with a fourth place finish, which moves him up to fifth on the program's top 10 list.
 
(W) Pole Vault: Jade Anderson (2.75m 9-00.25) was the only competitor for the Knights and placed fourth, which ties for tenth on the program's top 10 list.
 
(M) Shot Put: The Knights had three competitors finish in the top five. Eli Keahna earned the event victory with a 15.34m 50-04.00 mark, which ranks fifth on the program's top 10 list. Deacon Vasey took fourth with a 14.23m 46-08.25 mark and Brady Cannon took fifth with a 13.53m 44-04.75 mark.
 
(W) Shot Put: The Knights had four of the top five finishers in the event. Abby Veld (13.29m 43-07.25) placed first, Olivia Rowedder (12.23m 40-01.50) placed third, Lydia Kriegel (11.93m 39-01.75) placed fourth, and Emma Kuhlmann (11.89m 39-00.25) placed fifth.

(M) Weight Throw: Eli Keahna was the top performer for the Knights and finished in third with a 16.45m 53-11.75 mark. Deacon Vasey finished in fifth with a 15.54m 51-00.00 mark.
 
(W) Weight Throw: The Knights had the top three finishers in the event. Abby Veld (16.43m 53-11.00) finished first place, Lydia Kriegel (16.04m 52-07.50) finished second place, and Ana Glawe (14.96m 49-01.00) finished third place.
 
RUNNING EVENTS
(M) 5000m: Ethan Boston ran a time of 15:07.59 to give the Knights the event win. Caden Kueker followed with a time of 15:42.16 to place second. Wes Hulseberg finished in the top five with a time of 16:05.71.

(M) 3000m: The top four finishers in the event were represented by the Knights. Ben Neville (8:35.86) took first place, Alex Horstman (8:45.84) took second place, Evan Cook (8:52.86) took third place, and Cameron Noreen (8:53.43) took fourth place.

(W) 3000m: The Knights had four of the top five finishers in the event. Morgan Engel won the event with a time of 10:24.65. Peyton Morey (10:28.00) finished in third place, Anna Quillin (10:32.07) finished in fourth place, and Ava Vance (10:33.98) finished in fifth place.

(M) Mile: Solomon Zaugg delivered an exceptional performance by placing first with a time of 4:10.75. Zaugg moves up to fifth on the program's top 10 list and sets a meet record. Andrew Smith (4:14.41) finished fourth and Ahmed Aldamak (4:15.09) finished fifth.

(W) Mile: Bethany Warren led the Knights in the event and put together a top three finish with a time of 5:10.50.

(M) 800m:The Knights had all five of the top five finishers. Nathan Ahern was victorious with a time of 1:53.32, which ranks ninth on the program's top 10 list. Rylan Martin (1:54.87) finished in second place, Gage Heyne (1:55.80) finished in third place, Marcus Camacho (1:56.40) finished in fourth place, and Logan Rosas (1:56.42) finished in fifth place.
 
(W) 800m: Haley Meyer and Maddie Merna were the top finishers for the Knights. Haley Meyer finished in the top three with a time of 2:17.56 and Maddie Merna finished in the top five with a time of 2:18.96.
 
(M) 400m: The Knights had two top three finishers. David Williams ran a 50.14 to take second place and Jeffrey Oestreicher closely followed with a time of 50.15 to take third place.

(W) 400m: The Knights had two top three finishers. Olivia Tollari ran a time of 58.87 to place second and Natalie Bork followed with a time of 59.37 to place third.
 
(M) 200m: Jimmy Weispfenning (21.91) finished first place and AJ Wright (21.93) finished second place. Weispfenning rises to third on the program's top 10 list. Wright ranks fourth on the program's top 10 list, but improves his time.

(W) 200m: JoJo Tyynismaa was the event winner with a time of 25.20. Tyynsimaa set a meet record and rose to third on the program's top 10 list. Adalyn Sporleder put together a top three finish with a time of 26.39.
 
(M) 60m Hurdles: Austin Rindels and Weston Johnson were the top two finishers for the Knights. Rindels ran a time of 8.35 to finish second. Johnson ran a time of 8.40 to finish fourth. Johnson remains ninth on the program's top 10 list, but improves his time.

(W) 60m Hurdles: JoJo Tyynismaa earned the event victory with a time of 8.71. Tyynismaa set a meet record and stands 10th on the TFRRS list for this season. Grace Braden was a top three finisher with a time of 8.89. Aly Stahle finished in fourth place with a time of 9.30.

(M) 60m: AJ Wright tied his school record time of 6.83 to finish in first place. Jimmy Weispfenning ran a time of 6.88 to finish in second place, which ranks fourth on the program's top 10 list. Mitchell Darst (7.04) and Alex Kerr (7.06) each finished in the top five with their fourth and fifth places finishes, respectively.
 
(W) 60m: Ellasa Horton and Aly Stahle were the top two finishers in the finals. Horton ran a time of 7.91 to win the event and Stahle ran a time of 7.94 to take second place.
 
RELAYS
(M) DMR: Nathan Kinzer, Alex Kerr, Hutton Edney, and Lance Sobaski represented the Knights in the relay. They finished first with a time of 9:53.66, which is a meet record. They rank fifth on the program's top 10 list and stand fifth on the TFRRS list for this season.

(W) DMR: Haley Meyer, Olivia Tollari, Nadia Bowden, and Maddie Merna represented the Knights in the relay. They won the event with a time of 11:48.58, which is a meet record. They rank ninth on the program's top 10 list and stand ninth on the TFRRS list for this season.

(M) 4x400m: Jeffrey Oestreicher, Jordan Cleaves, Hutton Edney, and Alex Kerr represented the top Knights team and earned a first place finish with a time of 3:20.98

(W) 4x400m: Olivia Tollari, Ryann Decker, JoJo Tyynismaa, and Natalie Bork led the Knights to an event win with a time of 3:53.03, which is a meet record. Taylor Burns, Hannah Ramsey, Leah Cherry, and Haley Meyer placed second with a time of 4:04.53.
